You've provide us with excellent information. All along we just wanted to make sure we had the most-correct size given the house specs, our location, etc. The builder wants to put a 5-ton unit in a 2600 sq ft new home. The HVAC size seemed way too big and your report confirms we should be looking at a smaller unit. Price was never an issue, I just want a size unit that is most efficient and provides the best comfort levels. I'm never bothered with being cool in the winter, but I just hate summer heat and humidity. We now have detail specs to compare with the builder's calculation and reasoning.
